Professional Experience

SUN Microsystem
December 2000 to July 2002

Joined SUN as a contractor, working as an IT project manager for their North European facilities managment division. In this position I have been responsible for all infrastructure changes at all SUN Microsystem headquarters and divisional offices throughout Scandinavia and Eastern Europe including Russia.
The role has included dealing and managing projects from a very small scale up to complete office relocations with budget responsibilities of 100k USD and above.
The work has included managing and close cooperation with large property
management groups, such as CB Richard Ellis, facility management
corporations, such as Johnson Controls and local country specific project
management companies.
It has also meant handling several different concurrent projects all over the region, sometimes as many as 10-15 active major projects.
The scope of the projects have included designing, ordering  and  managing all technical aspects of IT infrastructure, including cabling, network equipment  HVAC, fire surpression system, raised floor load calculation, security systems, telephone PBX installation etc.

Due to the large area to cover this have also included extensive travel.
Major completed projects have been relocation of Norwegian headquarter, office reconfiguration of Danish and Finnish country headquarter and 10 major server-room upgrade / reconfiguration projects in Budapest, Bratislava, Moscow, Sweden, Norway and a company acqusition in Norway.

January 2000 to December 2000

In December 1999 I resigned to become a consultant and to start up the company Haddox &Co - an artist booking agency and event marketing company. I also started up my own consultancy company where I have mainly been working at the Swedish Navy at Berga Örlogsskolor as their internal IT support engineer. I have also been involved with contract work for smaller companies in the Stockholm area, such as Clarion Svenska AB, Indcen Resor, Blue Wings and Tommy's Transport.
As a consultant I have focused on Network Administration, LAN Support and emergency problem solving.
The contract with the Swedish Military Defense also mean that I have been SUA-granted  for security and to handle classified information.

Working with building up the IT department for Glocalnet’s Internal BackOffice and the worldwide Voice over IP network.

Been involved with everything from evaluating IP-telephony Gateways and planning deployment of IT infrastructure to hands on LAN maintenance. Also been working as a manager for the WEB project, and being the acting WEB master.

American Airlines / SABRE Computer Services July 1994 to September 1997

Responsible for AA´s internal real time computer reservation system (CRS) SABRE, back office SW and HW, WAN-LAN implementation and ongoing maintenance. Including managing 3rd part contracts, negotiation with external companies and local authorities through out Europe.

Project end-to-end responsibility with extensive hands on approach and experience. Position involved extensive traveling around the world dealing with customers from all continents.

History and Experience:

Graduated 1988 and became an employee at the computer leasing company Econocom as a Field Service Technicians performing on site service and maintenance on IBM mini computers, S/3x and PC LANs. Later on I become manager of that department until Econocom sold the entire maintenance department.

In 1990 Granada Computer Services purchased all service contracts from Econocom and I joined Granada and became manager for the PC contracts. This included a major contract with American Airlines Computer Reservation System SABRE - one of the worlds biggest time critical real time reservation systems.

The position included:

  • Extensive on site support at customer
  • Help desk for technicians within Granada organization in Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden
  • Planning and carry out training regularly.
  • Managing IT service and maintenance for 200 travel agencies

1994 ICL / Sorbus was handed AA/SABRE contract and I decided to join ICL as a key player to start up the contract. I became responsible for training, spare parts and to face the contract into ICL´s organization and corporate culture, while still working as a field engineer for all PC clients.

In mid July 1994 I was offered to work for American Airlines European IT department as a project manager in the European headquarter in London.

In this position I was responsible for internal IT projects within the AA international organization. Working throughout Europe and Asia with main responsibility for Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Italy, and Switzerland with London as base. This has meant extensive traveling on an average of once a week for three years to destinations in Europe, Asia and America.

Working with American Airlines involved work on a wide variety of computer technologies both on the software and the hardware side.

October 1997 I decided to move back to Sweden and was offered to join the brand new Swedish PTT Glocalnet to help them build up an organization in Sweden dealing with IP Telephony.
In this role, I had the opportunity to work with everything concerning building up a company from scratch.

I worked throughout the organization as it grow from nothing to 36 employees in a six months period, doing different projects with the purpose to fast create a solid and sound IT department. Main responsibilities included building up network operations and IT infrastructure while having an overall responsibility of the Internet and Intranet solutions.

 

December 1998 I was approached by TREMA Treasury Management who asked me to join their System Engineer Department as a field engineer dealing with their risk and treasury management system Finance Kit, working with their European installations. This position has meant extensive work on financial instruments and configurations in a propriety Unix / SYBASE / Perl environment.

In December 1999 I decided to leave Trema to start up my own IT consultancy company which I am currently dedicating my time to.

 

Key Achievements and involvement at American Airlines:

The Aurora Project.

In 1994 Canadian Airlines CRS system Pegasus was converted to SABRE. This was carried out with great success and was the largest conversion projects ever done. This was an extremely time critical "make or break" project where we had 24 hours to convert all Canadian Airlines terminals around the world to SABRE.

Dublin Reservation moves

In 1996 American Airlines consolidated most major European Reservations Offices into one in Ireland. This included setting up a new office with both Computer infrastructure and phones. This has also been seen as a very successful project throughout the airline industry.

Interpersonal: One of my strongest skills. Ability to communicate with all levels within an organization. Always highly appreciated and well liked by both customers and work colleagues. I enjoy working with people and I have an understanding that people likes to work and deal with me.

Work equally good in a team as by myself, but prefer working with a team where I take pride in my contribution to projects I am direct, or indirect, involved with.

Highly self-motivated and never afraid to take initiatives. Sound sense of prioritizing and strong urge to be on time and to deliver before or on deadlines. Uses stress to my benefit when it occurs and never afraid to work until a project is finished no matter how time consuming.

Interests and private life:

At my spare time I am working as a DJ and a club manager for a live rock music venue.
